Growing Together – Nature Classroom is the natural evolution of Blossom, a living project that began in 2010 and has, over the years, transformed and adapted to the real needs of families, the community and the social context in which it takes place.
Today we are an active pedagogy space in nature, and we define ourselves as a forest school, bringing together different currents of alternative pedagogy that deeply respect childhood and each child’s individual rhythms.
We are located in a small pine forest in the Mogarizas–Cerromolinos area of Chiclana de la Frontera. We have basic, environmentally respectful facilities that meet everyday needs: an outdoor toilet and a glamping-style tent shelter that lets us take cover when the weather requires it.
Nature is the classroom, and our teaching resources come from the environment itself and from an integrative approach that draws on various alternative pedagogies —such as nature schools, Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Waldorf— taking from all of them respect for children’s innate wisdom, their creative potential, their emotional development and their natural drive to understand the world with autonomy.
The forest space is complemented by a small garden of vegetables, aromatic plants and flowers, which we tend every day. By caring for it, children learn about natural cycles, growth, care and the interdependence of the elements around them.
We regularly extend our natural classroom by visiting the nearby marshes, the beach and other natural spaces in the area, adapting routes and experiences to the different ages and moments of the group. Nature is always the starting point and the framework for learning.
As a forest school, our aim is to support all-round development, nurturing resilient, confident, autonomous and creative people. We place central value on developing emotional intelligence, understanding it to be as important as critical thinking, problem-solving and cognitive learning.
English is our common language, used through natural, everyday language immersion that is part of the daily life of the project.
We offer respectful support towards oneself, towards others and towards the natural environment we live in, encouraging meaningful learning that strengthens innate abilities and a sense of belonging and deep respect for nature.
