At Growing Together we support a way of educating that is respectful, alive and connected with nature.
Our approach is based on alternative pedagogies in which active learning, experimentation and discovery are part of everyday life, respecting each child’s individual rhythms and real needs.
The project began in 2010 as a bilingual family initiative, created to meet the needs of multicultural families looking for a different educational alternative in Andalusia. From the start, families have been an active part of the educational process, building a community together with education professionals from different fields and international backgrounds.
Over time, Growing Together grew organically, attracting the interest not only of families but also of European Erasmus students and teaching professionals looking for a coherent, close and transformative educational experience. This diversity of perspectives and paths has deeply enriched the project.
In 2019 the association was founded to sustain and structure this journey: a stronger space for active, bilingual pedagogy from which to keep growing into other areas related to alternative education, such as training, work placements, professional support, talks, gatherings and events open to the community.
Although childhood remains the heart of the project, we are widening our view to include adolescence, aware of its importance and its impact on the near future. Today, more than ever, we champion and develop an educational model in which learning outdoors and in contact with nature helps people become freer, more aware, respectful and healthy.
